GoogleOMeter

Blog, Tweet or Recommend · GoogleOMeter, create swing-o-meters using the Google API library & insert them into Excel

GoogleOMeter is a function that creates and inserts a Chart measuring the distance between 0-100 as a percentage. It passes parameters through the Google API Charts interface to return a URL link to the Image it just created. This image is then downloaded and saved to a temporary folder upon your local drive before being inserted into a Worksheet. Once inserted it has no links to any data whatsoever.

You can set the Chart Title and Chart Title Text colour. You can alter the Chart Width or Chart Height. The Chart Background colour can be set as either a solid colour or a defined gradient. The Chart can even be striped and all the colours of the OMeter bar itself can be changed (up to 8 different colours).

You should build the Chart ArrowValue and Title from dynamic data within your report. You can then have a button to create and insert the new Chart at a cell location of your preference.

By passing the colours array you can force the Google API to colour the bands accordingly. If you only pass 2 colours then Google API will blend these accordingly. Create your own GoogleOMeter now by downloading the Free Code
